# Finding your way around the admin menu

How the admin menu is organised, how to search it and what the Needs Attention list means.

---

The menu on the left of the admin panel lists every page you can use. It is grouped under headings such as **People** , **Community** , **Communications** , **Growth** , **Commerce** and **Platform** .

## Opening a group

Press a group name, such as **Users** or **Content** , to see the pages inside it. Only one group opens at a time.

## Searching the menu

If you cannot find a page, type a word into the box at the top of the menu that says **Search admin...** . For example, type "categories" or "newsletter". Press a result to go straight there.

## Needs Attention

When people are waiting for you, a short list called **Needs Attention** appears at the top of the menu. For example, **Pending Approvals** shows a number when new members are waiting to be approved.

## Why some pages are missing

The menu only shows pages for features your community uses. If Events is switched off, for example, the Events pages are hidden. See "How do I switch features on and off?" in this guide.

Some pages are only for the platform team, so you will not see them.

## Making more room

Press the button next to the word **Admin** at the top of the menu to fold the menu away. Press it again to open it.
